GIRLfest (All Girl Scouts)

Come spend the day celebrating 96 years of Girl Scouting! Click here for information about the Troop Helping Troops community service project being held in conjunction with GIRLfest. GIRLfest will be jam-packed with fun activities for all age levels including live fishing demonstrations, arts and crafts, interactive presentations including fire safety, cheerleading and dancing, games, animals, and much more! Cadette and Senior troops are encouraged to volunteer by sharing their favorite arts and crafts or other activity with the younger Girl Scouts. Interested, contact the Program Department at (504) 733-8220, ext. 243 to get involved!

Cost: $10 per girl; $1 per Safety-Wise Adult

Capacity: Maximum of 500 participants
Registration: To register, complete an event registration form.

Daisy Day at Camp (Daisy Girl Scouts)

Take this opportunity to visit CWP and learn about camping opportunities when you bridge to Brownie Girl Scouts! You will enjoy “First Time Camper” activities like making s’mores, learning how to build a fire, and hitting the trails to explore CWP’s beauty.
When: Saturday, April 19, 2008, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. FULL! Registration now closed!
Where: Camp Whispering Pines, Independence, LA
Cost: $6 per girl and (Safety-Wise adults $1for site fee).
Registration: To register complete an event registration form in the forms section. Confirmations mailed by March 26, 2008.

Resident Camp Open House at CWP (Girl Scouts & their parents/guardians)

The camp open house is a great opportunity for girls and their parents/guardians to explore camp, visit the camp sites, and receive information before resident camp begins.

When: Sunday, April 20, 2008, 1 - 3 p.m.

Where: Camp Whispering Pines, Independence, LA

Notes: No registration required. Please remember that exploring camp means "WALKING." Wear comfortable shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and casual clothing. Tours will not be conducted during summer sessions or check in!

Fall Festival Celebrating Juliette Low's Birthday

(All Girl Scouts)

Come and enjoy a day at camp participating in activities to help celebrate our Girl Scout founder’s birthday! The U.S. Marines will be on hand collecting unwrapped toys for their Toys for Tots Drive. Troops are encouraged to participate in this voluntary service project by bringing an unwrapped toy(s) to the Fall Festival.
When: Saturday, November 3, 2007, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Camp Whispering Pines, Independence, LA
Cost: $8 per girl (Safety-Wise adults $1 for site fee). If camping overnight, cost is $7 per girl for program. All camping fees apply.
Registration: To register, complete an event registration form. Confirmations mailed by October 24, 2007.
Registration deadline: October 19, 2007.

Me & My Pal "Dad & Me"  (Brownie - Senior Girl Scouts)

Girls! Bring your dad, grandfather, uncle, or other appropriate adult male to camp for a weekend. Show them what a terrific camper you are! Together you will enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, and more!
When: Friday, November 30, 2007 - December 2, 2007
Where: Camp Whispering Pines, Independence, LA
Cost: $35 per girl; $25 per adult
Registration: To register, complete an event registration form. Confirmations mailed by November 14, 2007.
Registration deadline: November 9, 2007.
Notes: Fee includes four meals, camping fee, program fees and one patch per girl.

Arbor Day & Family Camping (All Girl Scouts)

Come and enjoy a day at camp with the whole family! You will participate in Arbor Day events and a family picnic!
When: Saturday, February 9, 2008, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Camp Whispering Pines, Independence, LA
Cost: $5 per person. If camping overnight, cost is $4 per person.
Registration: To register, complete an event registration form. Confirmations mailed by January 30, 2008.
Registration deadline: January 25, 2008
Notes: Fee includes site fee, program fees and one patch per participant. Bring a sack lunch. Troops or families may camp this weekend. Families will be placed in separate accomodations.

Arbor Day at Camp Covington (Junior - Senior Girl Scouts)

Come and help replant our beloved Camp Covington. Now that the remains from Hurricane Katrina have been cleaned up, come out and help us replant our forest. Bring your troop or family to help celebrate the beauty of Camp Covington.


When: Saturday, February 16, 2008, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Camp Covington, Covington, LA
Cost: $5 per person.
